CRISIS

Response and Prevention

In a mental or physical health crisis, call 9-1-1, go to the nearest emergency room, or contact the resources below.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY ACCESS AND CRISIS LINE

For behavioral health emergencies in San Diego county, call 1-(888)-724-7240, or go to the nearest emergency room. They can help you decide if you need inpatient care, or possibly temporary medication stabilization until you are able to follow up with your outpatient doctor.  Available 24 hours a day 7 days a week  (TDD for the hearing impaired: 1-(619)-641-6992).

NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION LIFELINE

For support in a suicidal crisis or other emotional distress, call 1-800-273-TALK(8255).  Available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

 

Resources and support for veterans in crisis or in need of crisis prevention.  Call 1-800-273-TALK(8255) press 1.  Available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

BIOFEEDBACK AND NEUROFEEDBACK PRACTITIONERS

For certified biofeedback or neurofeedback practioners in your area, visit bcia.org.

For Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) referrals, see the Society for Behavioral Sleep Medicine directory for referrals in your area. If you live in an area with limited treatment options, and you are a PSYPACT state, you can search the directory for providers who have a PSYPACT license who can provide you CBT-I across state lines.

BLUE-LIGHT BLOCKING GLASSES

Artificial light late in the evenings can disrupt our natural sleep-wake cycles and worsen sleep quality.  Wearing lenses that filter out blue light from electronics in the evenings can contribute to better quality sleep hygiene and sleep health.
